School material

In my Master’s project in Design for Play at Kolding School of Design I have fortunate enough to be in a collaboration with The LEGO House. I was asked to design a new structure for their school programs. In my research phase however, I saw a much bigger opportunity for value creation in redesigning the the physical material that is gifted to the teacher after their visit. The desired function of this material is to inspire the teachers for more Learning through Play in the class room, but it simply dosen’t work.

Therefor I redesigned this material by co-creating with teachers, observing children in play, researching relevant play philosophy and acting as a design anthologist. In my field research I got lots of insights which made me capable of taking the right decisions at the right moments.

Now I am working with The LEGO House, to implement this material in the right way. The following pictures show key moments of my process where I interact with the target group, and getting them involved in the design process.
